About me….well, I’m a stay at home working mom of two. I have two daughers one born in 2008 the other 2010. I’m a slight workaholic who can’t sit still for one second because my brain is constantly in overdrive!
I used to be a Project Manager before motherhood engulfed my life. I truly loved that job because I was allowed to tell people what to do and how to do it every day. What can I say? I’m a typical woman who likes to get things done the way she wants them and I got paid to make sure it happened!
After the birth of our daughter in 2008 I decided I wanted to stay home with her before she turned into a dreaded teen and hates me. I figured I might as well soak in all the hugs and I love yous now before I got the eye rolling and I hate yous. So, I became a doula. What is a doula you ask? Well if you check out www.birthingmothers.ca you’ll get the full breakdown but the cliff note version is a birth coach/partner. I help mothers-to-be achieve the birth of their choice.
I try to balance being a good wife, which sometimes I succeed at I hope, a great mother, which I know I am (so far anyway) and a fantastic doula.
I am also a childbirth educator. I work along side the Calgary Childbirth Education and Doula Association as a doula and substitute teacher while working with the Calgary Health Region teaching in the High River area and substituting where I can.
Somedays I succeed at all three and sometimes I don’t… so is life I figure!
